Information Security Awareness (ISA)

Information Security (commonly referred to as Cyber Security) entails protecting employee and youth information and department-owned information technology (IT) resources (i.e. data, applications, systems, networks and hardware/software, etc.) from unauthorized use, disclosure, modification or destruction. This critical function requires all DJJ employees and applicable providers to adhere to DJJ’s policies and procedures, incorporate standards/guidelines and practice safeguards that will protect the confidentiality and integrity of the Department’s data and IT resources.

ISA Training Requirement:

DJJ policy requires all Providers and Contractors needing access to any form of JJIS data (components, training modules, databases, etc.) to take the Information Security Awareness (ISA) training course prior to being granted access and at least once per calendar year.

ISA Training Goal

The key to information security

The goal of this course is to heighten your awareness of information security as it relates to insuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of data, records, and IT resources.

The key to information security is not solely an organization’s firewall, anti-virus software, or web filters—people are the key to Information Security.

The training provided on DJJ’s webpage is solely for DJJ providers and contractors who work outside of DJJ facilities and who do not access to the Department’s network. DJJ employees as well as providers and contractors working within DJJ facilities must take the Information Security Awareness training that is available on SkillPro.

NOTE: The ISA Training pledge and acknowledgment form must be signed and received by the appropriate Data Integrity Officer before access is granted to any form of DJJ/JJIS data.
