Prevention Services

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Office of Prevention Services offers voluntary youth crime prevention programs throughout the state of Florida. Our mission  is to enhance public safety through high-quality effective services for youth and families delivered by world-class professionals dedicated to building a stronger, safer Florida.

Overview

The Office of Prevention Services provides delinquency prevention services and programs designed to reduce juvenile crime and protect public safety. We address these problems by contracting for delinquency prevention services and awarding grants to local providers throughout the state. Our programs target youth who exhibit problem behaviors such as ungovernability, truancy, running away from home and other pre-delinquent behaviors.

One Mentor, One Child Mentoring Summit

The One Mentor, One Child Mentoring Summit is designed to equip mentors, volunteers, and community partners with practical tools, best practices, and strategies to effectively support youth through high-quality mentoring.

8th Annual Restoring Hope Training Summit

The Restoring Hope Training Summit will allow juvenile justice professionals, community stakeholders, faith partners, members of law enforcement, criminal justice educators, social service groups and other partners to explore practical evidence-based mental health tools and strategies that promote resilience, wellbeing, and personal and professional growth.

Florida Fathers and Faith Symposium 

The Florida Fathers and Faith Symposium is a two day convening focused on strengthening fathers, families, and communities through faith-based engagement, mentorship, and collaboration.
