Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Act

Overview

The Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, provides for the federal funding of local delinquency prevention programs. In accordance with the Act, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), a branch of the federal Department of Justice, provides funds to states for delinquency prevention research, planning, programming and evaluation. In Florida, the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is the designated state agency for delinquency prevention.

Funding Opportunities

Title II

The Title II Formula Grants Program is funded by  OJJDP which provides grant dollars to states and territories that support state and local delinquency prevention, intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements. Funds are administered through sub-grants to units of local government, local private agencies, community and faith-based organizations, and Indian tribes for delinquency prevention and intervention service to youth and families.

How to Apply

All vendors interested in doing business with the state must be registered in the My Florida Market Place System. Funds are awarded to eligible vendors on a competitive basis; based on availability and goods and services needed. Funding opportunities are publicly noticed on the State of Florida Vendor Bid System.
