The Office of Prevention Services is the first service component on the Department’s continuum of services. The goal of Prevention Services is to intervene early in the lives of at risk youth and decrease the chance of juvenile arrest and recidivism.
The office is charged with implementing programs, strategies, initiatives, and networks designed to prevent children from making contact with the juvenile justice system. Additionally, the Office of Prevention offers diversion and intervention services in an effort to keep children from penetrating deeper into the system.
